Senior Embedded Firmware Engineer

As Pozyx continues to extend and improve our product portfolio, we are looking for an experienced firmware developer to join our team in bringing intelligence to our wide range of hardware products for accurate indoor positioning. These products range from small asset trackers with years of battery life to complex industrial devices that communicate with different wireless technologies and perform local computations. In your role you will be flanked by an experienced hardware/firmware team and strong software and algorithms teams who describe the smartest functionalities for each device.

Job Description

• You design firmware architectures for power-constrained ARM-based devices (bare metal or RTOS-based).
• You benchmark, test and optimize low-level functionality and power consumption.
• You develop test code for hardware validation testing and production test benches.  
• You peer-review your colleagues' embedded code.
• You contribute to hardware design discussions by reviewing schematics and identifying potential firmware integration considerations.
• You support hardware bring-up, debugging and validation together with the hardware engineers.
• You prepare the required technical documentation and support the release process.

Profile

• You have solid experience in low-level embedded firmware development in C/C++ for resource-constrained ARM Cortex devices.
• You have experience with RTOS-based embedded systems.
• You are comfortable using laboratory equipment such as oscilloscopes, logic analyzers and multimeters for debugging and validation.
• You have experience with embedded unit testing, hardware validation and production testing.
• You have good communication skills and enjoy collaborating with firmware, hardware and software teams.
• You hold a Master's degree in Electronics, Computer Engineering or a related field and have a minimum of 5 years of professional experience as an embedded firmware engineer.

Nice to have

• You have some experience with digital hardware design or are able to review hardware schematics, and PCB layouts.
• You have experience with wireless technologies such as BLE, Wi-Fi and UWB.
• You have experience with Zephyr RTOS and FreeRTOS.
