Pozyx was born in 2015 out of a successful Kickstarter campaign introducing the first open UWB positioning system for Arduino and Raspberry Pi. At the time, ultra-wideband (UWB) was a niche technology known only to experts. Today, UWB is used in hundreds of millions of devices worldwide and Pozyx has been at the forefront of making it practical, scalable, and reliable.
Today, Pozyx solutions power hundreds of deployments in manufacturing, logistics, and industrial automation, helping businesses track assets, improve safety, and optimize workflows.
Pozyx Key Milestones
- 2015 – Kickstarter success for the first open UWB positioning system
- 2015 – Pozyx officially incorporated as a Ghent University spin-off
- 2016 – Joined the KBC Start it accelerator and hired our first employees
- 2018 – Launched Pozyx Enterprise UWB RTLS for scalable, high-accuracy indoor tracking
- 2018 – Closed our first funding round to fuel growth and development
- 2019 – First large-scale industrial deployments in manufacturing
- 2020 – Opened our U.S. office and secured our first patent
- 2022 – Released the Pozyx visibility software layer, evolving into full end-to-end solutions
- 2023 – Added support for BLE and GPS tracking
- 2025 – Surpassed 125,000 Pozyx devices deployed globally
